Art Nouveau and Art Déco in the City Centre
The city centre leads us to the sumptuous Waucquez and Wolfers brothers' shops. Now respectfully the Belgian Comic Strip Centre and a toy shop, they are the only remaining shops left from the time of their construction. Horta was a fertile artist who always sought innovation and renewal. After the First World War and his trip to America, Horta gave himself over to a more stripped-down and geometric style, Art Décoratif. The most representative example of this period is the façade of the Bozar. And yes, it is a façade by Horta. Even more surprisingly, it was he who designed the well-known Central Station in our beloved Brussels.

Trendy Brussels : City of Fashion and Trade
If clothing is skin-deep, it is above all period-dependent, revealing a society and its upheavals. Fashion is at once a social, political and cultural phenomenon, and like a work of art, clothing bears witness to mentalities and mores. We'll look at the first weavers in the sumptuous era of the Dukes of Burgundy, the arrival of silks and brocades, trade around the Grand Place, the strolls of beauties in the Galeries de la Reine, between architectural excellence of the past and stylistic excellence of the present.

Discovery of Bruges
To visit Bruges is to imagine that the boats and carriages are carrying not tourists, but German and Italian merchants selling spices from the Orient, wines from the Rhine, furs from Russia... The lively quaysides are a reminder of the cosmopolitan city of the 16th century: the world's largest port.
For one day, we'll live in Bruges like Hanse merchants. After greeting the city's representatives in front of the Belfry and the Town Hall, our steps will lead us to the Burghers' Lodge, the Porters' Lodge, the House of the Genoese... Then it's off to the Stock Exchange. After a quick check of fabric prices, we'll pay a visit to Peter Bladelin, treasurer of the Toison d'Or...
